Apologies for dearth of posts in the last few days but gearing up for The Trip now and though I have everything organised down to the last dot and comma, there still seems a lots of odds and ends to clear up. Holding a meeting this week of the Residents Association regarding our budget for the next year etc and getting that sorted and out of the way and then the weekend will be clear and I am going to spend it packing and getting the final things organised.
This week I have been up in London again, getting as much Florence and Beatrice time as possible before I leave as I will then not see them for about seven weeks which is the longest I will have gone. Florence knows I am going to Australia and said to me tonight 'Will you and Auntie Kathryn Skype us please' - the knowledge that children have these days!
Bad night last night as Beatrice is teething and also has a cold and was up most of the night screaming the place down. Helen had been to Cambridge as the after dinner speaker at the Historical Society annual bash and that is why I went up on Tuesday to take care of Beatrice in the afternoon. She was shattered when she got home, having been up since 5.30 am already and then another bad night and it was all totally exhausting. I remember those nightmare nights so well and how they make you feel and I felt so sorry for her today as she was white with exhaustion. We went out to the park, Florence bouncing around like Tigger, and the first thing we did was stop for coffee and Helen had a couple of strong cups to keep her going.
My birthday tomorrow and will be having Rosemary around for lunch and then we will sit down and watch the DVD of Skyfall which is now out and generally relaxing. I will be back later with a few book related posts and will also put up the link to my Australian blog which I intend to write while away.
Anyway I am off to bed now - not even 9 pm yet but gosh I am tired.
