Well we had the truly wondrous sight of Kenny Logan performing the Pasa Doble in a kilt on Saturday night and, funnily enough, it worked. In a kilt he seemed to stand taller and move better. However, the dance was pretty dire but received thunderous applause from the audience. Afterwards when talking to the judges and also backstage he toned down his rhetoric from earlier in the week when he said he would not take any notice of the judges as 'the public will vote for us anyway'. Probably just as well.
Dominic (Dom) did a pathetic Pasa Doble and was whinging backstage about the fact the judges never give him good marks. Doesn't seem to twig that it would be a good idea to dance in time in order to earn these which he never does. Even Len said he was fed up with him moaning and that 'Dom is getting on my wick'. Anyway he is now gone so I wonder who will be next. Kate has survived another week but really can she hang on much longer?
Brendon and Kelly did a poncy, show off pasa doble with Kelly swirling the cape and showing how clever she was and I was truly delighted when Craig put his finger on it and said that he felt they were dancing for themselves and nobody else. The judges were not happy and even Brendon looked a bit worried by the end of the evening and said perhaps they had gone too far. He never learns. When the announcements were made on Sunday of who would be coming back next week, he looked mightily relieved when his name was finally called out. Pity.
Penny Lancaster and my favourite of all the professionals, Ian, turned in a simply gorgeous fox trot, as did Alisha and Matthew. Gorgeous Gethin and Camilla did well and Letitia Dean did a wonderful pasa doble and is unrecognisable from the tentative nervous woman of the first week.
My friend Rosemary came round and watched it with me on Saturday evening while we were scoffing casserole and mash followed by plum crumble and cream which was a bit dangerous as we kept jumping up and down and yelling. I have managed to get the debris off the ceiling now...
