You may recall that my digital camera died the death last week and I had to go out on the hunt for another. Managed to find a super duper half price offer and I am now the proud owner of a Samsung 8.0 mega pixels piece of hardware which is so much better than my other which was really just a start up camera to set my digital career on its way.
I have taken a picture of some Virago books I purchased at the big book sale I went to a couple of weeks ago as a tester and here they are for your delectation and delight. These are all brand new, untouched and were sitting alone and unloved amongst a sea of Grisham and Dan Brown. Not for long. I swooped and into my bag they went. I just love the covers.
Busy weekend coming up, off to Coggeshall on Saturday morning to get the bride and bridesmaid's flowers organised, plus buttonholes etc for the Bride who is currently in San Francisco presenting a paper at a conference. The Bridegroom is flying out to join her and they have strict instructions not to think about the wedding or any related matters while they are there and just enjoy the week away from all the hassle and this they have promised to do. In the evening I am going to the opera of which more later.
Then on Sunday I am off to Aldeburgh to meet up with Sarah (Needle in the Blood) Bower and have a good old chat and gossip about the gorgeous Odo and hear all about her next book which I hope will not be long in coming so will report about that in due course. Last time I went to Aldburgh I went to a concert there with a friend and we were so busy yakking that we missed the turning and had to turn round and go back, only to miss the turning a second time. We were backwards and forwards over the Orwell bridge like a yo yo hysterical with laughter. In the end I said 'get in the left hand lane, slow right down, to hell with the cars behind and keep an eye out for the turnoff' and third time we managed it. Have to say after all that palaver the concert was a sad disappointment.
I do love Aldeburgh and while I am there will take the new camera and get clicking. The results will be shown here of course......
Friday tomorrow. Isn't that a lovely thought?
