Sat down at laptop this evening, fingers poised over the keyboard, ready to give you my astounding thoughts of the day when suddenly POW we were plunged into Stygian gloom. Entire street dark as pitch. Within five mins flickering candles could be seen behind curtains and I, and a few of my neighbours, congregated outside where there was a bit of starlight for chat. I managed to contact the electricity failure line using my mobile and was told that it had been reported and the men 'were working on it'. As these men were working on the electrics for some new houses down the road, I have a lurking suspicion that it was them who caused the problem in the first place.
So lights have just come back on and I am now tired and off to bed so you will have to wait in breathless anticipation for my next post.....
