You will remember (you do, don't you....?) that I recently started some part time work for Lynette Allen and Meg Reid who, together, form the UK Coaching Partnership. You may also remember that I told you that I had introduced Lynette to Typepad and she wailed that she could not understand it and would never manage a blog, blah blah blah. She then went on to produce a gorgeous looking blog, replete with links and pics and heaven knows what else and has long outstripped me in knowledge of the inner workings of setting up and producing a blog...
She has now done it again. Feeling that the UK Coaching Partnership needed a new look and a re brand, she set to work and has produced a simply splendiforous new website. Do check it out here and see just how cool and super it looks. Lynette's work is a shining example of just what you can do if you try. It was my job to test the site, proof read it, amend, check all the links and come up with any suggestions. This took me an entire day so heaven knows how many hours of work Lynette had to put in to create it - she then sent me a whole list of things for me to do with regard to the 'old' website which is being retained, updated with the new image, and will be uploaded soon on the new one (still with me...?) when it is ready.
When I tell you I had to disable links, add links, re-title posts, create a new type list with all the articles etc loaded on complete with their html (yeh I know.....don't ask), make sure the columns were all the correct width and matched the new website and get rid of the dates at the top of the posts, you can imagine my terror. Well, managed to do that lot but then wanted to get rid of the footers at the bottom of each post - you know the bits where you can leave a comment etc etc. Could I find out how to do it? No I could not. I searched the Help section of Typepad to no avail and then realised the answer was staring me in the face. The Comments and Trckbacks which were marked 'open' on each post, should be 'hidden'. Eureka - a wonderful moment.
Gosh this is turning into a geeky post but you will have to forgive me as I was so overcome with my intelligence, skill and cleverness that I want you all to know that this has got me firing on all cylinders as regards Random Jottings and Random Arts (which has been neglected since I started it). 'Why' thinks I 'Come 2010 I may re-brand my site as well'.
Oh there will be no holding me now - but do nip over and take a look at the UKCP website and don't you think Lynette has done a great job?
And just in case I feel inferior again when looking at the brand new website, I just remind myself that I baked a Christmas cake last week, have done two inches of knitting a cot blanket for my forthcoming grandchild and I have been to THE DENTIST.
Beat that.....
