Bleak grey evening and raining - hello Spring! Off to London tomorrow to see my darling Florence and to give her mum a break for a couple of hours and will be back on Friday. Baked a quiche to take up for lunch and generally have had a quiet day and though I have loads of posts and subjects I want to write about I will wait until I come back from town.
I have just spent the last few hours watching the final episodes of 24, Series 2. I am currently working my way through the lot again, but seem to have been going backwards, next week I might start Series 1 and go right back to the beginning. The finale of Season 2 takes place in the Olympic Stadium in LA and I remember seeing the opening ceremony here years ago with a huge amount of pianos if my memory serves me right. The denouement of 24 in this deserted and empty bowl was tremendously exciting and I found myself biting my nails all over again. The level of tension that this programme manages to wrack up has been kept at an extraordinary level and comparing Season 7 with this one, it has still got it as far as I am concerned.
So a highly intellectual afternoon as you can see.
Now, a few weeks ago I visited the London Design Centre as you will have read (hopefully), and I remember thinking how clever people were when I looked at the jewelery makers, the knitters, the embroiderers etc and then I thought Well I knitted a blanket for my new granddaughter and I have not knitted anything for over 30 years and I did it. I feel very pleased with myself about this and so I am putting a photograph of this superb piece of craftsmanship for you all to admire.
Mark you I had a terrible job getting it off Henry as he rather wanted to keep it...
Au reservoir.
