A meme originating over on Stuck in a Book and it sounds fun so here we go.
The Book I am currently Reading
I have two on the go at the moment. The Bertrams by Anthony Trollope. Something about the clocks going back and the nights getting darker that always brings out the Trollope in me. I started re-reading the Pallisers last winter and after The Bertrams (which is totally unknown to me) will be going back and starting with Phineas Finn again. In contrast the other book I am reading is The Body in the Olive Grove by Marco Vichi, the second in a series set in Italy and am already loving.
Last Book I finished
Greenbanks by Dorothy Whipple. Had not read this for some time and enjoyed it all over again. this has just been republished by Persephone and I intend to purchase a copy next time I am in their shop, but in the meantime read my old, very foxed and mildewed copy. Will review in due course.
Next Book I want to Read
Thomas Hardy by Claire Tomalin. Has been languishing on my shelves for some time and now that I have finished her biography of Dickens and so enjoyed her writing this is now on the top of my pile.
Last Book I was Given
This was the Dickens biography by the above mentioned Claire Tomalin and was given to me by the simply wonderful publishers after I sent an unashamedly grovelling email and they were incredibly generous and sent me a copy almost by return. THANK YOU
Last Book I bought
A cookery book on How to Make Macaroons by Annie Rigg. After watching the Great British Bake Off and remembering how much I loved baking when the children were small, and drooling over macaroons I have decided to have a crack myself. Will let you know how I get on.
