I make no bones about it - I love Royal events and celebrations. They are always so well organised, timed to the last millisecond, you kow nothing will go wrong, they are full of pageantry and beauty, music etc and I enjoy every moment. I was glued to my TV all day for the Royal Wedding from breakfast TV to a summing up of The Day at around 11 pm last year, so no prizes for guessing what I will be doing over the next few days. It is the River Pageant that I am really looking forward to - think it will be stunning.
Received two books in the post this morning; A Celebration of the Queen's Life and Reign by Jenny Bond and The Treasures of the Queen by Tim Ewart. Both gorgeous and my thanks to generous publishers for sending them to me. Will be reviewing in due course.
Tomorrow afternoon our Residents Association, or those of us who are around, are holding a tea party. Hoping the weather would hold but, sadly, it didn't so we are all squashing into my flat. I am making fairy cakes and scones, another neighbour making sandwiches, another bringing along some vino, another neighbour a chocolate cake and cheese biscuits and it is going to be rather fun.
HAPPY JUBILEE EVERYONE!
