OK I am now the proud owner of TWO new computers as I mentioned in my last post. Both of my old ones crocked out on me and though computers are wonderful when they work, when they don't they are enough to make you want to commit Hari Kari.
So just letting you know that I am up and running having spent the afternoon faffing around and setting up home pages, book marks, favourites, downloading blah blah blah. Posh new screen, sharp as a pin, terrific and when you open up all these posh icons on the screen which you can flick around (with my mouse, if I paid more I would have a touch screen but feel I can manage to live without that) and it was all most disconcerting. Had to hunt around to find the location of areas I use a lot and find they were hidden in different menus and then found I could not get back to the home screen and panicked. Of course, if I had taken the trouble to read the instructions I might have been a bit wiser as it seems there is a little button on the keypad which, if pressed, Shazam, whips you right back to said screen.
Have spent most of the last two days setting up and sorting out but oh the speed of it all - wonderful! Will be back tomorrow when I have recovered and I may even do a book review, or two....
oh the excitement.
