Had a wonderful five days in London with family and friends and outings and treats to celebrate my birthday. Loved every minute of it but oh my goodness me am totally exhausted. First of all charging up and down stairs in a house when you are used to a ground floor flat does the calves in, oh my. Then Florence wanting to sleep with me, lovely, but she snores, wriggles and whimpers and flings her arms and legs about and after one night her mum said no as I was so tired in the morning. Then Beatrice, 17 months, toddling over to me arms up 'ook ook' and I lift her up and she bounces about and then gets down. Thirty seconds later 'ook ook' and so it goes on. She is totally enchanting as is Florence and I am certainly not complaining but my back, dodgy at best, plays up. Then I walked a lot in London, went on the Tube etc etc and again, those days when I did this without thinking are long gone, and I need a break in between outings. BUT I had a great time surrounded by by gorgeous wonderful family and lovely friends.
I will blog more about books, films and events tomorrow when I will be having a quiet day. When I came home this morning I just went to bed and slept most of the day away and now feel fine and dandy.
And to totally relax me I am just going to watch The Great British Sewing Bee which I love. Reminds me of my teenage days when I would rip apart an old full skirt, turn it sideways, cut out and sew a shift dress and wear it to a party in the evening. I did that all the time and loved making my own clothes but these contenders are serious sewers I can tell you.
Back tomorrow.
