Last week, with all the aches and pains I had been suffering from and not seeing the family for ages, was a bit of a low. Feeling a tad fed up. Well now I am back from a great weekend and cannot tell you how much better I feel. Arriving and having two grandchildren hurl themselves at you shrieking GRANDMA is a wonderful tonic to the system.
New house great, but I am sleeping in the converted loft, three flights and oh I have bungalow legs and boy do they ache now I am back. No matter.
Weather wise we were lucky with one of those beautiful autumn days where the sky is blue, it is balmy and everything is perfect. We went to Kew Gardens, ten minutes walk away from the house, and I do not think I will ever tire of going there. Simply glorious and always something new to see from season to season. Trees changing from green to red and gold, fountain water glinting in the sunshine and it was all gorgeous. I took loads of pics and made a small collage just to give you an idea of how fabulous it looked.
Drive home awful as weather changed and the rain came down in sheets but it was worth it.
And I took two books with me. WHY? I ask myself every time. With two granddaughters around there is no time for reading but I am not complaining.
