Since mentioning my new bathroom on Random I have received many requests for pictures of same. I suppose it should now be called a shower room as I no longer have a bath but old habits die hard. Yesterday my Man who Did it All came along and fixed up a grab rail/come towel rail for me as well so now feel totally secure. It is very lowering to realise that one has reached the age of Higher Toilet Seats and Grab Rails, but no point stressing about it.
As you will have seen in a previous post, I had a terrible job getting out of my neighbour's bath and that really brought it home that I had made the right decision to have the whole bathroom gutted and redone. I was very lucky in that the plumbing and everything was in the exact place needed so it all fitted in beautifully. So here we go:
I have spent many happy moments already sitting on the drop down seat, useful when washing hair, and letting the hot water cascade over me. I am pondering on taking an umbrella in with me so I can read as well but doubt that it is feasible. Please note elegant toilet with the higher seat and a slowly closing lid which enchants me. Small things, small things....
I had the sill and all around the window tiled as the condensation ruins paint work after a while and gets behind the sealant so it eventually comes off. This solves both those problems in one stroke.I chose these white tiles and had grey grouting else it would look a bit clinical.
Aforementioned grab rails which are at the end of the shower and double up as towel rails. Shelves for my toiletries (an awful lot of these from various hotels which I am now using up) and shampoos etc. I have been rummaging through all the heaps of unsorted bits and pieces I have had stashed away and I seem to have about five bottles of assorted conditioners and body and facial scrubs. All from Amazon which I have tried and reviewed. So now I am working my way through them all.
The top shell came from Erakor, off the coast of Vanuatu. Came across it when paddling and brought it home. I think it is beautiful. The smaller one came from Fiji.
Shelf above the window for extra storage. Fortunately I am tall so can reach it. It is still a bit of a stretch though so I put stuff up there that I do not take down very often.
And finally, my soap dish. I picked this up on the beach at Fiji last year along with the shell pictured above. Not quite sure what it is, certainly not a shell, but some kind of fossilied fossil or piece of coral which was washed up. I rather liked it and brought it home. It is nice to have these souvenirs scattered about.
So there you have it. My New Bathroom Shower Room. I love it.
